Toronto Secondary School of Art (TSSA) is Canada's leading private art high school, located in the most culturally rich core art district of Toronto, Ontario, providing a full-time education system that integrates art creation, academic courses and future innovation ability training for students from grades 9-12 from all over the world.
Who We Are
Founded in 2005, Toronto Secondary School of Art (TSSA) is a private AP art high school located in the heart of Markham, Ontario, Canada. Welcoming students from Grades 9 to 12, TSSA offers a full-time academic and creative curriculum designed to nurture independent thinking, global perspectives, and future-ready artistic innovation.

In partnership with Vancouver Film School (VFS), we offer college-level courses in film, animation, fashion, game design, and more—right inside high school. Every project follows industry-level workflows, with mentorship that pushes both technique and voice.

At TSSA, learning goes beyond the classroom. Through Art Co-op internships and non-profit creative projects, students step into real-world environments—whether it’s through public exhibitions, interdisciplinary collaborations, or community-based installations. Here, they explore how art can be a form of social practice and public expression.

We are the first private high school in Toronto that integrates basic art teaching + interdisciplinary project training + admission guidance to prestigious schools around the world. Through the uniquely developed Ivy Track Art Climbing Project and Studio Lab cross-media laboratory courses, TSSA helps students build stylized portfolios and independent expression capabilities, deeply adapting to the admission standards of top art schools in North America and the world (such as RISD, Parsons, SVA, CSM, Pratt, OCAD U, etc.).
TSSA takes "making creativity the most core competitiveness in the future" as its educational creed, cultivates students' creative abilities from sketching and composition practice to cross-media experiments, animation narrative, image language, interactive interface design, etc., and emphasizes art as a language tool leading to society and future careers.
